Camp Anokijig is open year-round. True to our camp motto “we serve”, we make it our goal to provide the type of outing that your group wants. Flexibility is our key; groups can come for programs ranging in length from a few hours to several days. The activity options are nearly endless.

Camp Anokijig has been recognized for excellence in camping and facilities since 1926. A rich tradition and history of offering an experience that will last a lifetime. Anokijig is a Native American word meaning “We Serve," but it is also synonymous with positive values, personal growth, great adventures and outrageous fun. Our philosophy is to do all that is possible to serve our guests and campers. You will find us easy to work with and flexible enough to satisfy your requirements.

Activities

Spring / Summer / Fall

Beautiful waterfront with piers and sand beach, swimming, fishing, rowboats, canoes, sailboats, sailboards, kayaks, paddleboats, arts & crafts, archery range, sports, new games, earth ball, parachute, horse drawn hayrides, Frisbee Golf, pellet Range, two 34 Ft. Voyager Canoes, horse lessons & rides, outdoor ping pong, tetherball, volleyball, hiking, large outdoor campfire area & lighted stage, outpost sites, island exploring, orienteering, low ropes challenge course, Nature Center, Pontoon Boat rides and much more. Off property options: caving, high ropes course, backpacking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, deep sea kayaking, and fishing adventures.

Winter

Ice skating with a lighted rink, cross country skiing with 15 miles of ungroomed trails, snow shoeing (equipment available), tube hill with tubes provided and lights for late night runs, ice fishing, campfires, snowmobile trails, and a nearby indoor pool (with advanced reservations).

Location

Camp Anokijig is located on 396 acres of rolling hills and woodlands in the Glaciated Kettle Moraine Forest Area of Wisconsin. Anokijig surrounds almost three fourths of Little Elkhart Lake and owns the only island. This combination results in a beautiful private setting for our guests to enjoy. Numerous ecosystems with an abundance of flora and fauna are perfect for camping and outdoor education programs or just to be enjoyed. Conveniently located, only 45 minutes north of Milwaukee and halfway between Fond du Lac and Sheboygan. Four miles north of Plymouth, on Hy E, and a half-mile back into the woods is the main camp.

Staff

Camp Anokijig has nine full time professional Staff with years of experience and dedication to the mission. The Staff have significant experience and longevity in their chosen professions. Full time professional staff live on the grounds and are available to guests 24 hours every day. Program assistance, teaching, and activity scheduling are available. The Youth Summer Camp increases the Staff by approximately eighty to run the programs and see to the needs of the campers. An extensive screening and training program is required for all staff members.

Meals

Buffet style meals, all you can eat with a variety to satisfy everyone. Menu selection and approval is an option. Cookouts, picnics, and travel meals available. Full time Food Service Director on the staff

Lodging

Camp Anokijig offers a wide array of lodging options, including cabins and large platform tents. Total cabin capacity is 236, and total tent capacity is at 264. Get more detailed information about our cabins and tent sections.

Western Lodge

Large log lodge overlooking the lake with a meal seating capacity of 425. Fully equipped kitchen and two serving lines. Large fireplace, PA system, movie screen, VCR,DVD, heated, meeting space and offices. Tables may be removed for events or rainy day activities.

RC Vance Nature Center

Log Cabin with nature exhibits that are relative to the Anokijig environment and Little Elkhart Lake.
